CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction Course (Building)

Gimbal’s Certificate IV in Building and Construction – Building (CPC40120) is designed to minimise the time and effort for trades persons, builders and professionals wishing gain their formal qualification.

If you have trade experience and time in industry, our recognition of prior learning (RPL) program means you don’t have to spend 10 months in a classroom, after hours and on weekends.

Our blended RPL pathway recognises your existing skills and knowledge through a process of evidence collection, meaning minimal disruption to your business and personal life.

The qualification has 16 core units of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry and a further 3 elective units are chosen to meet a total of 19 units of competency.

The course duration varies depending on experience, skills and amount of Recognition of Learning (RPL) applied. As a guide:

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) blended with Training & Assessment: 6-12 months
  • Standard duration ranges between 12-24 months
  • Fee for Service: 3-12 months subject to the amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required

Course Overview

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small to medium-sized building businesses and meets the technical requirements to gain your licence with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) and the Department of Fair Trading in New South Wales.
