Trade skills assessment & gap training program (TSAGT) - QLD

An exciting opportunity to have your ENGINEERING experience recognised and become Trade qualified.

The program goals are:

  1. To recognise the existing skills of experienced individuals who have been employed in industry for a significant time and can provide experience of competency.
  2. To provide additional training to complete the qualification.


Eligibility:
Eligible participants will be skilled individuals who:

  1. Can successfully complete a minimum of 60% of the funded competencies in an engineering priority trade qualification through recognition of prior learning (RPL).
  2. Require gap training in no more than 40% of the funded competencies/ points of a priority trade qualification to enable completion of the qualification.


Participants must also:

  • Be 21 years of age or over.
  • Permanently reside in Queensland.
  • Be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen.
  • Not have previously completed a trade qualification in the same industry area, that is, a qualification within the same national training package.
  • Not currently be an apprentice or trainee as defined in the Further Education and Training Act 2014.


Fees

Participant pays a co-contribution amount of $1.60 per nominal hour for each unit of competency that is gap trained. NO fee is payable for credit transfers or RPL outcomes.

TRADE QUALIFICATIONS

  • MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade
  • MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade
  • MEM40119 Certificate IV in Engineering

RPL Enquiry Form

  • The qualifications we offer can only be undertaken through by an employed Apprentice or through the formal trade recognition assessment process (RPL) for those that have been in the industry for a minimum of 4 years
