Gimbal Training delivers the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid unit across multiple locations throughout Queensland. This course covers the practical skills and knowledge needed to respond to a first aid emergency, in line with guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national clinical bodies.

The unit is suitable for anyone who may need to provide first aid in a variety of situations, including both workplace and community settings. We currently have CSQ funding available for eligible Queensland residents working in the building and construction industry.

Course Overview

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is a nationally accredited, 1-day (or blended) training course teaching essential skills to manage medical emergencies, including CPR, AED usage, asthma, anaphylaxis, and injury treatment.

It is the standard workplace compliance requirement in Australia, valid for 3 years, and aligns with ARC guidelines.

Entry Requirements

Here are the entry requirements for this course:  

  • An Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • A permanent resident of Australia
  • A visa holder with the right to work in Australia (excluding international student visa holders)
  • Currently working in Queensland in the Construction Industry

Validity: 3 years (CPR component usually recommended annually).

Prerequisites: None, though some training providers require a minimum age of 14.

Course Structure: A blend of online/pre-course theory and 3-5 hours of face-to-face practical assessment (including 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin).

Covers: Asthma, anaphylaxis, choking, bleeding, burns, fractures, stroke, diabetes, and AED operation.
