Learners enrolling into this qualification will be required to transition into new qualification MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade prior to 20 November 2020.

This qualification provides a trade to become a qualified engineering tradesperson and higher level engineering industry skills outcomes, at post trade levels. You can gain your Certificate IV via our unique on-the-job workplace training and assessment model. This means no productivity loss for your employer because there’s no downtime to attend college!

Maybe you’re an existing worker, with the skills and knowledge but don’t have a qualification. You may already have your Certificate III Trade Qualification and only need minimal training to gain your Higher Engineering Certificate IV Trade qualification! Get recognised and get your trade qualification via our Government approved trades recognition service (RPL). We recognise the skills you have, and train you in the skills you need.

 

 

COURSE OVERVIEW

This qualification is designed to deliver higher level engineering industry skill outcomes with multiple exit points between trade and post trade levels. Competencies can be drawn from the three broad engineering streams including mechanical, electrical/electronic and fabrication as well as other streams within the competency standards. This qualification would be appropriate where the use of a greater range of skills is required i.e. more than the base trade outcome.

Duties may also involve the repair of shipping machinery (ie: winches, glands, drive shafts, turbines etc) and power station maintenance.

The qualification has core units of competency requirements that cover common skills for the engineering industry, as well as a specialist field of work. Further training pathways from this qualification include MEM50105 Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade or other relevant qualifications.
